The Summer of Lost Things was just the adventure treasure hunting summer romance I needed. Filled with nostalgia for The Goonies / National Treasure clue hunting and Emily Henry style heartfelt storytelling.

The summer atmosphere was jumping off the page, I loved all the treasure clues and adventure scenes. Blended seamlessly with real world issues, school financial aid, growing apart from childhood friends, and estranged family drama. The Wags – Paige, Jaz, Seb and Benny were very likable and I liked the interactions between them. Paige and Seb had an easygoing banter that felt very believable, and I enjoyed the progression of their relationship throughout the book. There’s also a dog – Punkin, and she gets a ton of little mentions that made the book fun.

The actual treasure hunt was very satisfying to me, the author did a fantastic job at dropping clues, red herrings, and the ending felt rewarding to me. Like a true summer adventure book.

Audiobook narrated by Allie Shae effortlessly fit into the vibe of the story. Told from Paige’s POV, I liked her delivery and pacing, it made the characters stand out!

Thank you to Harper Audio for the advance audiobook copy.
