Callahan is the co-owner of Virtu Antiques and Collectibles, tasked by his ex to get rid of a (very illegal) taxidermy goose found in her attic. Helping, or hurdling, his efforts is his business partner’s niece, Annie. When the hidden goose hitches an accidental ride to a house staging, Cal and Annie race around town hoping to find it before their professional careers are ruined. Catching feelings for each other was not part of the solution, but neither can help their attraction.

I very much enjoyed this novel, from the silly synopsis I was expecting a little bit of shenanigans, and I’m happy to announce, there was even a wild goose chase! ba dum tss 😜

I immediately liked Cal, he was a little nerdy and sweet, working through a breakup and the death of his mentor. The sunshine to his grumpy was Annie, also a little lost in her life, but very creative and a caring sister. Their banter and interactions were fun and their growing relationship very natural.

It was a lighthearted story and I couldn’t help to laugh at the events surrounding Albus, the goose! This features a dual POV with interesting historical chapters in between. Showing the story of where the goose originated and the persons behind it. The story within was also very intriguing. I really like the inspiration from the author for the idea of this book and I had fun reading it!

Thank you to Berkley for the advance review copy.
