I flew through this book and I’m glad for it. It’s YA horror with such a creative world building and beautiful (but very deadly) monsters.

I felt like I was literally in the Void. Like something out of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (The Depths???) and The Last of Us.

Petra and Jade are Void divers, taking tourists down to collect souvenirs and the like. It’s a dangerous, but mostly well paying job. I loved Petra and her scientific brain. She really wanted to use the Void plants for good and create medicine to help the kids in her orphanage.

All the fungus creatures and little bugs created a colorful world down below. The world building and lore was very strong, with notes and stories starting each chapter. Much like the layers in the Void, this added a lot of depth to the story.

Tandem read and audiobook listen was really immersive. Da Eun Yoon has a charismatic voice and I really enjoyed her delivery and personality she created with Petra.

Overall, I’m very happy with it!? But also 😱????

The ending????????

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!!!?!
