This is my second novel by Kate Robb ((I skipped one somehow?? I need to remedy that, stat!)) and I can pleasantly say I’m a fan!

What stands out to me in her writing is the relatability in the characters and small town Canadian vibes, as well as the magical/whimsical touch. I love the gradual buildup of the plot and subsequent emotional connection in this book. It had me tearing up!

I really liked the parallels between Jules and Kitty, the lesson and takeaway is beautiful. I had a soft spot for young Kitty and the idea of Jules visiting her through old diary entries was so fun! Kitty’s whole story was very heartfelt, even though we are left to fill in the gaps. I loved how that was presented in the end, just knowing what happened and the little clues left behind – so great!
