Happy Monday! This will be the start of the weirdest two weeks 😆 both holidays fall on Wednesday and I’m just waiting for that PTO to reset 🗓️
Today I’m looking back at two months – here is April and come back later for May 💗
Funny Story
April is now synonymous with an Emily Henry release! So far I haven’t gotten sick of her stories and I truly appreciate her relatable writing, characters and signature humor. The queen of contemporary romance set in the Midwest, audiobook narrated by none other than Julia Whelan, it’s the unofficial start of the Summer!
Love and Other Conspiracies
This was an ARC from a Berkley giveaway, literally the bookish version of winning the lottery 🤣 Cryptids, Aliens, Bigfoot, Area 51, interesting conspiracies wrapped up in a fun romance. I enjoyed the characters and witty writing, a great debut and I can’t wait to read her next!
The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy
I loved this book with its magical world building and grumpy/sunshine romance! Such a fun series, the letters between Hart and Mercy were adorably romantic and cute 💕
Honorable mentions:
Diavola by Jennifer Thorne – This book was perfectly spooky and atmospheric. The Italian setting was wonderful and all the paranormal ghostly hauntings gave just enough chill. Loved the outcome and definitely recommend!
The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
This story was immensely gripping for me. I loved the true crime angle, a twisty domestic YA mystery!
Where Sleeping Girls Lie by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
This cover art is one of my top favorites this year. I ate up this YA academia mystery and the audiobook narration was outstanding.
