This might be my favorite book this month. Sometimes you just know from the first few chapters. This is adult fantasy / science fiction done right!

I enjoyed the rollercoaster of emotions this book was able to invoke. From shock to anger and everything in between. The magical system was very smart and the characters, especially Sciona, so intriguing. I was rooting for her and on her side for the whole book. Thomil added much needed balance to the story, I really liked all of their interactions and achievements together and then separately. This is not a light fantasy to keep you entertained, there are some hard topics and themes presented, which has been a big draw for me as I get older. Fantastic, can’t get enough. I will be reading more from this author in the future!
