Some word salad thoughts so far on this series. Very promising!

Dark Rise had my attention from the very beginning with its world building, characters and plot intrigue – the fight between Light and Dark magic.

In Dark Heir, the magical elements used to propel the story forward, keep our characters apart, then bring them together, were very well done. I enjoyed adding up all the breadcrumbs and the plot still kept me in suspense and surprise at the outcome.

Personally, I thought the opening prologue should have been the cliffhanger of Dark Rise, but I was surprised at the added complexity to the story and how it would affect the characters.

I love the direction of Violet and how she’s coming into her power. And in all honesty, I’m more in this for Elizabeth, my sassy little know-it-all, she steals the show from Will and I’m curious how it all comes together in the next book!
