When we meet Wallace, he is not a nice person – heโ€™s singular, selfish and heartless. The transformation of his character throughout the book was inspiring. The conclusion really packed an emotional punch! Many layers woven into the writing about death and grief but also a lot of love.

More somber than The House in the Cerulean Sea but I enjoyed the found family trope and eccentric characters very much – Mei and Nelson were a hoot! The tea shop was a lovely place that Iโ€™d like to visit to have tea and cookies ๐Ÿฅฐ and get some sound advice from Hugo.
