Overall this story fell short for me, it was missing something, to tell the truth it was boring. I thought the world building and magic setup were a good start but had too many holes that didn’t end up being filled in. There weren’t too many dragon things happening at all, I didn’t think the stakes were high enough for Arcady or Everen, though I’m leaning towards the banished dragons more. Arcady was flatter than flat. I did not buy this as a romance at all. I forced myself to finish the last 10-12 chapters, expecting the cliffhanger since this is meant to be a trilogy. Just sort of indifferent to it but might check out the next book if it comes out.
