Florida People, the novel! This is a wild tale following multiple characters, each chapter bouncing between different takes. We first meet Jesse, a new mom, her hot but no good baby daddy Slater, his buddy Kark and how they are filming a reality monster show in the Everglades.

While the guys film a viral video featuring someone dressed in a monster costume, Jesse finds a gold bar buried somewhere in the swamp. She hides it in hopes of getting out of Florida and back on her feet after Slater used up all her money.

Long story short, a few people know of the missing Civil War treasure and are already on the hunt when they track Jesse. Chaos ensues – a viral sensation, the Python Challenge, mobsters and treasure hunters, and a bit of a happy ending tie up the novel.

Definitely page turning once I got a feeeewww chapters in, after all the characters were introduced and I grasped what the plot was supposed to be 😅 a mix of satire and mystery with a hot take on viral video culture.

This had short and fast paced chapters with pretty basic writing, very humorous and leaning into many stereotypes of Florida people, namely Gladesmen and their eccentric way of life 😆 the running joke for the show being Glades Guy was pretty funny.
