A cozy monster hunting mystery? It’s a thing and I like this thing!! ❤️

This book jumped out at me with its cover a while back, so when I saw it at the library, I snagged it not knowing I would enjoy it so much – a hidden gem.

Morgan is a cryptozoologist that runs her own store called Odds and Ends, she has an adorable dog Newt, and is the new chief of police’s consultant investigating mysterious deaths in Lake Michigan. The deaths appear with inexplicable wounds made by an unknown animal and Morgan can’t resist the investigation.

Surprisingly layered and well written, I enjoyed the realistic setting with a fantastical vibe. A true cozy mystery with sleuthing and likable characters, a little bit of romance and hijinx, it kept my attention and was a big page turner. I’m curious to read the next book in this wonderful world!
